Our Embassy in Harare

The British Embassy represents the British Government in its relations with a broad cross-section of people and organisations in Zimbabwe. The Embassy maintains contacts with people from across the political, business and diplomatic communities, as well as from the media and civil society.

The Ambassador, and his staff, are responsible for presenting and explaining the views of the British Government in Zimbabwe, as well as for ensuring that the British Government is properly informed about developments in Zimbabwe.

The Embassy also provides a consular service to British citizens resident in Zimbabwe and a visa service to Zimbabweans wishing to travel to the UK.

In addition the British Government is supporting the people of Zimbabwe in a number of different areas – providing humanitarian assistance, fighting HIV/AIDS, supporting community based development and promoting human rights.

The British Embassy works with the UK’s Department for International Development and the British Council on these areas.
