Nehumba Primary School in Mutasa District in Rusape is the latest beneficiary of the British Embassy -Delta Corporation Schools Partnership Programme. A commissioning ceremony was recently held at the school to official handover a new classroom block and furniture donated to the school by Delta Corporation and the British Embassy respectively. The new block has eased shortage of classroom space at the school which has an enrolment of 520 pupils and was conducting some of its lessons in the open.

The British Embassy - Delta Corporation Schools Partnership programme has been running for 8 years and more than 20 schools have benefited from the joint effort throughout the country.

Other projects that are due to be handed over soon under the partnership programme are Shonganiso Primary School in Masvingo and Simpane Primary School in Gwanda. The British Embassy’s support for this programme comes from its Britain-Zimbabwe Community Partnership Programme [BZ-CPP] which focuses on community initiatives aimed at improving welfare of the disadvantaged.
